I set up the mailing list becuase it does several things.

1, Make it easy for people to communicate with each other
2, Provide a way for people to join or leave the list through a web page
3, reduce the spread of infections of viruses by removing a obvious vector
for the spreading
4, I like what Paul does in providing this service and it makes it easier
for him and others.

Ive gotten quite a few emails from people being irritated from the amount of
"drivel" they percieve is part of the listings. I could point out that
having used Email since 1988 the clients which most people use today for
reading email are amazingly creative and provide many features to allow you
to filter the incoming mail based on content. Its also the administrators
responsibility to keep people happy. Also this service costs money to run,
which I am happy to pay for as I like the service and have the technical
know how to to construct and create the systems to do it.

In all of this time I have learnt one thing though.

We are all individually responsible for managing the content we download and
have the means and methods available to control that content.

Please , please , please take time to read the instructions on the mailing
list, as well as visit the mailing list site to see  how to do the following

    unsubscribe from the list                                for those who
have had enough
    stay subscribed but not recieve emails           for those on vacation
    choose what you recieve                              for those who wish
to stay abreast or not.
    subscribe to other lists                                    for thos
intereseted in other areas.

I really dont want to be innundated with me-toos. Im a little busy at
present with my own business and hope to take time out this week to update
the sites content ( fingers crossed eh) I dont want to seem like Im not
answering emails when in fact I respond to at least 130 a day !
