Hello everyone,

Good turnout with 22 attendees, and lots of huddles-of tech-talk. $35 +
change (in gold, and flat-money) collected and transferred into the
robotics loose-change jar (for later banking).

All sales from the trading table should go into the brown box on the
wall, and are directly for the benefit of our host club, NZART Branch 05.

Equipment donations are welcome for the trading table, but no CRT based
product, printers, toner or items that are likely to be a disposal burden.

With thanks on behalf of the group,

Mark Atherton

Mark talked about some of the issues fabricating an electron-gun.
Specifically the Wehnelt Cylinder, and some of the issues using a steel
cutting bit to machine brass. Post Script: Graham Christie advised the
use of free-machining brass, and using a bit designed for cutting aluminium.

Bevin talked about the total failure of his two-year old, small
form-factor i7 x86 machine, and how he found the cooling-blockage.

William brought in his porta-Atari unit. Display is a reversing-camera
LCD driven by a custom gaming IC. Mobile gaming might become popular one
day J

Trevor talked about the distributed processor project BOINC.

Geoff talked about his plastic flying-machine. The unit started off as a
joke, but rather a lot of thought, and work has gone into this project.
Quite a presentation.
