[chbot] Sourcing ICs from China via ebay?

A lot comes down to what you mean by "trust" and how much you have to
"trust".

Are these parts going into a life support system or is this just a home
project/experiment?

You might be getting parts which were rejected or bootleg, but for many
uses that really does not matter.
