It might be worth a try just with an AP and a laptop to see what sort of
range you can achieve using Wifi. It might be better than you think.

Someone/something digging up or putting a spade through your fibre is going
to make for a sad day. It is much easier to fault-find broken cables for
Wifi :-).

Pity that Wifi Halow is not yet really available.
