Connector is usually a "U.FL"

You may be better off taking an old Access Point apart and removing the 
U.FL to RP-SMA cable. Then (re)attaching an RP-SMA antenna.

Don't think you will blow things up if you power the radio up unterminated.

Radio is an AP6212 with +17.5dBm TX power max, this is 56mW in 
real-money, and is not high power.

Nice to hear about someone being respectful of their radio, this makes a 
change.
