What happens when you try and control a 22A electric water heater 
(presumably 120+120V in Canada) using a cheap 25A solid state relay.

Personally, I would have used at least a 40A name-brand unit (Pansonic 
etc) attached to an aluminum heat-sink.

Qudos for him having the guts to publish his misstate, this could have 
burnt his house down...
