Yes very interesting for making one's own SSR (a 100A triac, anyone?).

Does it really help with understanding the SSRs I and others had earlier
though? The datasheet specifies a zero-crossing detector, snubber on the
AC side, and what has to be bipolar (i.e. triac) and not FET
"closed-contact" characteristics. So the principle design is known from
the datasheet. That website doesn't help with details like component
values and exact circuit for a particular SSR.

I don't like the snubber circuit to be always on even when the "relay"
is "off"...
