[chbot] OT: 1/2" Solenoid Valve

I did exactly that (timer, PSU, solenoid valve). I got the valve from
Mitre 10 and it had press-fit ends for irrigation tube. Since then I
saw similar valves in Bunnings, but they also had a manual override
button on top, which I thought was quite handy.

Most of the garden irrigation stuff needs 24Vac, which you can buy a
transformer for if you were going to buy one anyway, but you might get
away with 12Vdc.

Naturally, I had a grandiose plan to connect the irrigation to my
Linux server and my weather station, but unfortunately it has not been
possible to get beyond the planning stage.

Best wishes,

Andrew
