I disagree. I think you know exactly what you're talking about :-)
The outline of your architecture shows that you quite clearly
understand the important issues and know what a good separation
of concerns is. It may or may not by "pure MVC" (whatever that
means) but that's largely irrelevant, IMHO.
The important thing is that you've designed a system by thinking
about it, not by just reciting a mantra, repeating a recipe or
applying a pattern or two.
Thinking is always more important than blindly following the "rules".
Good programmers know that using GOTO is considered harmful and
don't use it. The best programmers know that using GOTO is sometimes
less harmful than the alternatives and they use it carefully.
So don't listen to anyone who tells you that their template engine is
better than any other for x, y and z reasons. It's not what it does,
but how you use it that matters.
Well, except for TT of course. That really *is* the best template
engine and using it will guarantee immediate success of your project,
make your sites run quickly and smoothly, increase your chances in the
lottery and make you more attractive to the appropriate sex.
