It failed originally just over 2 weeks ago. I turned the box off,
removed
the card, put it back and fired up again and it has run until mid
afternoon today. I've tried a power cycle and it did resurrect it for
about 10 minutes but I think it may now be terminal.

I'll take it out and check for bulging caps in the morning and see what
bits I can get at SI Components (I'm heading that way tomorrow
anyway!!).
Have you ruled out heat?
Hi Steve

I've just checked my weather station logs (I have almost 7 years of them
on this box - every 5 minutes!) and the indoor temperature (measured just
1.6m from the server) on both occasions was much higher than the norm -
Mondays failure was when the room temperature hit 27C.

I'm going to try moving the card down a slot as the one I'm using is right
next to the chipset heatsink (within 5mm) which after 3 years will have
done the board no good at all!

I'll report back :)

Does this card have an onboard fan? If so, it may be failing.
I have a graphics card in my desktop and I have to lube the fan every few years.
