Genius media-cruiser wireless keyboard..<br>

Need to use the USB dongle in the front panel of PC to get reliable
operation.<br>
Need steady supply of batteries, at least a pair every 2 weeks.<br>
<br>
Mine works fairly well but the RF link is badly designed.<br>
The "inverted optical mouse" sensor concept works for me, better than
touch pad.<br>

Prob better to spend 2.5x the money on a Logitech device.<br>

That's the case with the PS3 remote I was using with my Mac. The Mac
software (RemoteBuddy) disconnects the remote in order to increase
battery life. That's the cause of the reconnecting delay. But without
it, you might get a few days. Even with it I got less than 2 weeks on a
set of good alkalines.

Which suggests one of the best remote systems may prove to be Wifi touch
phones/pdas, using a browser, mythweb version, and desktop
stands to hold / charge when not in use.

When I first set up my system years ago I set up an IR remote and also got a
wifi keyboard. Within a couple of months we'd abandoned the remote - the
keyboard was more reliable, flexible and easier to use. I'd recommend a good
media center-oriented keyboard any day of the week.

Do not get one of the really cheap Genius wireless keyboards. They
are crap - you miss at least 1 keystroke in 5 or 6, even within a
metre of the receiver.
