<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div>Quite a timely discussion as I've just experienced Myth withdrawal after our roofers reset my dish wrong and I had to wait until the weekend to find time to fix it (was nice weather for it too). I haven't watched live TV since putting the system in about two years ago and have to agree I'm watching much less on the box. I usually line up the schedule for the next week on a Sunday night and it's sobering to find only one or two items I actually want to watch (leaving aside the 'always on' schedules of news and current affairs). News and current affairs can be chewed through at x2.25 speed with no loss of signal/noise in the reportage (probably an improvement in fact). Some of what I do record and watch is on at antisocial hours in programming cul-de-sacs I'd probably overlook without a system like this so it's an odd-paradox: a now essential piece of TV watching kit that helps me watch less TV!</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><br><div><div>On 6/07/2009, at 3:07 PM, Aaron Drysdale wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0; "><div lang="EN-US" link="blue" vlink="purple"><div class="Section1"><div style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; ">>I think that having TV dictate your schedule is a habit for a lot of people and habits are hard to give up. I find that now that I have adopted the “new paradigm” I actually watch less TV. Before, I would watch a program because “that’s when it’s on”, however now I might go and do something else. Make the kids lunch, do the dishes, read a book – whatever; just because I know I can watch the program later. Half the time, I end up deleting the program because I’m just never in the mood to watch it. Less TV has got to be a good thing.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; "><br><span style="color: rgb(31, 73, 125); ">However, I also find that sometimes you’re just in the mood for watching some mindless TV, ads and all.
