Not such a silly idea, I almost dismissed that, but it may work,
especially when my 3 year old talks/shouts through bit's I want to
hear.... it sounding better already. :-)<br>

Just remembered that the PS3 can be set to play one file after another, so
this could work...
only problem is working out where the current time is (where to start
veiwing from when you start watching - ie when does the 6pm news start? lol

I just want to start with viewing only, recording comes later when I shift
the card into my server and get much more grunt to play with, not to mention
a TB hard drive to store recordings.
The immediate issue is live tv through unpnp to the PS3, once that is either
confirmed or denied as a possibility, then if I have to, move on to stage
two where I have to make a front end and put it in the lounge just to view
tv, (and later to set up recordings).
Stage two sounds more and more like an unavoidable event the more I search
the net & forums.

The thing is I don't want to record anything, just view live tv. Essentially
I'm trying to avoid buying a freeview decoder. :-)
I'm picking I'll end up either with a Freeview tuner or a atom like head
unit in the lounge, or both.
Preferably I would like to just have the PS3, then I don't have to keep
changing settings on the 42" plasma that we bought years ago (doesn't do
1080p or have hdmi) but works well with component (RGB) video.
It's also annoying having a remote for the tv, a remote for the PS3, a
remote for the stereo, and a remote for the sky reciever (and then there's
the remote for the DVD that plays the region 1 dvds....). I know I'll only
be changing one remote for another, but then at least I don't pay $40
something to sky anymore....
I did read that .22 did have planning for live tv, unless I read that wrong
(most likely).

The PS3 receives unpnp streams just fine, so that's what I want to display
the freeview on. Admittedly I'll have to get the myth box connected to a
wireless remote to change channels.... :-)

Basically I want to drop sky soon, but I can only receive satellite
