Yeah check your lead it may be broken. The svideo transmits the colour
on a separate pin (see <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video</a>) which may
be broken only leaving the intensity (black-white) being transmitted.<br>

First time user of Myth here (actually mythbuntu).
I have set-up a box running mythbuntu 8.10 alright and can watch movies
on my monitor OK.
But when I hook the box up-to the TV using S Video the resulting display
is only in black and white.
I have googled the above issue and have found several suggestions that
haven't been able to resolve the issue.
For TV Out I'm using a GeForce4 MX4000 card. I'm using the Nvidia
drivers.
Can anybody help?

accept PAL.

Or it could be a broken or short pin on the cable plug (one end or the
other).
My system, when I was using s-video, would revert to black/white if either
end was not plugged right in tight.
