The problem I've got at the moment is that I'm using storage groups on
two backends. <br>
MythArchive is only able to see recordings on one of the
backends/storage groups.<br>

Anyone know if there is a way around that?<br>

Drives in the sweetspot (500GB+) cost about $0.20 per GB - about the
same as blank DVDs. But you'll probably have a lot of unused space on
the DVDs as shows will seldom fit exactly. So a drive is cheaper. It
also saves you having to store a bunch of DVDs. And you don't need to
find the right disk to play.
