I also tried watching live tv which doesn't work or trying to schedule
a recording from the backend. Only things I have done are to install
Wine and apply all updates through the update manager. I wouldn't
expect Wine to break my system but I wondered if some of the updates
might have broken something.<br>

Have you possibly run out of disk space? All sorts of strange things
happen on my box when I do that.
