Hi Andrew,<br>
<br>
I think this was the repository I added last time. When I add this
repository and update everything I now get the option of "New Zealand"
for country under "Scan Configuration" on the backend setup.
Previously this was not available. It also made it possible to scan
for channels. I think without the ability to process AAC in the
channels that mythtv doesn't recognise the channels as tv channels even
though the are there. I found some comments on one of the hundred of
pages I searched trying to find this info. Thanks Andrew you've solved
my problem.<br>
<br>
Regards<br>

<pre wrap="">Hi,
I also have the Nova T 500, I am pretty sure you don't need a software
source to scan for channels. However you do need to turn the low noise
amplifier on:
Open
/etc/modprobe.d/options
Add at the bottom
options dvb-usb-dib0700 force_lna_activation=1
A scan should then find the channels.
There is then a software source you need to add, Paul Kendall's PPA. If
you didn't know this adds support for the AAC codec and significantly
improves the ffmpeg playback of the MPEG 4 codec.
Go into
/etc/apt/sources
Add
deb <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://ppa.launchpad.net/paul-kcbbs/ubuntu">http://ppa.launchpad.net/paul-kcbbs/ubuntu</a> hardy main
And run update etc to get the updates the myth. You should then be good
to go.
Cheers,
Andrew

<pre wrap="">Hi everyone,
Well after getting my system just the way I liked it I promptly did
something stupid and broke it! Sigh. So I am busy reinstalling it. I
originally had trouble getting my system to scan for channels. Last
time I think I found someone had posted a repository source which had
some patches which fixed my machine last time around. But now I can't
seem to find the post. I am using a DVB-T card (WinTV Nova T 500). Is
anyone else using DVB-T and do you know where this software source is?
I'd rather not try patching the system myself so if possible adding the
software source to apt reps would be best.
Thanks all.
