I hope I'm not going off track too much here but I'd like to defend mythbuntu a little.<br><br>I did a re-install of Mythbuntu 7.10 recently and setup three partitions (OS, Recordings, Archives/Misc). Set it all up using the installation CD's next, next next process. I'm not sure if I've missed your point Nick or it may have been fixed ???<br>

I think that for me knoppmyth has been the best, but the current<br>
version does not have 0.21 and has an older kernel.<br>

You can update it to 0.21 yourself (it has all the compiling tools,<br>
headers etc) but the lack of the rt2x00 wireless driver (which is now<br>
on kernel 2.6.24) is annoying for me. Even the "any day now" 0.21<br>
version of knoppmyth will only have kernel 2.6.23 so I am indecisive<br>
about where to go with my mythbox and its shiny new 750G drive.<br>

mythbuntu does some (IMHO) dumb shit, like only installing one<br>
partition (with myth you should seriously put all your media on a<br>
separate partition to facilitate updating), and it buries the data in<br>
/var/lib/mythtv (IIRC the path correctly).<br>

On the other hand having repositories with regularly update myth is a bonus.<br>
