I'd go for NFS. There is some info on the wiki (http://mythtv.org/wiki)
about using network filesystems that might help you.

Generally using a network share for recordings is not recommended for
performance reasons, though it may make sense if you want keep drives out
of the backend for some reason (e.g. if it is a combined FE/BE in the
living room). MythTV is almost a closed system as far as recordings go -
the formats of the files have always been a little tricky and the naming is
quite opaque - so there is not usually much value in general access to the
file.
