Why? it might be upscaling.

yes we established that from xrandr

Try runnig without an xorg.conf at all. I am not sure why you have set
it up as component when you are using hdmi.


Actually you do realise that 720p is more lines of video than 1080i
(which is effectively 540 lines)? Are you sure you aren't better off
as you are?
