OK, I've had this card a while and never could make it work in linux. I
forced the card to card=100 when auto-detection failed to get it right.
This was obviously not correct either. Anyway, during the course of trying
to get the T 500 I had bought going, I put it back into my mythtv box and
found it auto-detected as card=174 and 'Robert's your uncle' I was able to
scan all 3 multiplexes with w_scan.

However, I am unable to get mythtv to tune into any of the channels. This
is on my working mythtv box where the channels have already been scanned
(will not lock). Nor will it scan on the new test box I set up for the T
500.

Furthermore, tzap and gnutv both appear to tune into stations in a
channels.conf file scanned by scan (not w_scan). However, I am not sure how
to capture the stream and send to a computer with enough grunt to play the
stream to make sure I really am tuning properly.

So, I would like to do is confirm that card is actually receiving a usable
TV stream. I think gnutv captures the stream and makes it available but I
am not sure how to display it. I tried outputting to a file, but it ended
up zero length. I tried outputting rtp to a multicast address and using vlc
to play it. I got nothing. I was hoping someone who had more low level
knowledge might be able to help here.

But in the final analysis, I would really like to get it working with
mythtv...
