[mythtvnz] Mythbackend breaks after upgrade

As mythtv - echo $HOME gives /home/mythtv
logging in as mythtv and running mythbackend from the command prompt 
works fine, but starting it at boot up or using 
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend fails.
