I find this very surprising esp for Sony.
It seems the Sony X series has/had better VGA capabilities..
That design engineer probably fell on his sword.

Is this a new/current model ?
Is this 1080p50 ?

The Bravia model is HDready only over analogue connections (XBox
forums).

Anybody else got a full HD TV that accepts 1080i or 1080p over VGA
and/or component ?

It would be a good Mythtv resource to know the TV capabilities.
So does your TV do:
- direct-pixel-mapping/just-scan/no-overscan
- real 1920x1080 not 1440x1080 or 1280x720
- can turn off/minimise the internal processing
- confirm 50Hz modes work (in addition to 60Hz)
- progressive modes work 1080p (in addition to 1080i)
- VGA and/or component works
- custom modeline needed
- does it look any good (subjective)

note: analogue mode only information.

Is this a bad idea/waste of time ?
Thanks.
