Gave ATI a try with my new mobo (onboard HDMI), and it was a useless 
POS,  even with updated drivers. A week of mucking around with drivers 
later, I gave up and bought a cheap NVidia card.

Simple matter of jamming it in, installing the drivers and ten minutes 
later it was Working, as opposed to a week with nothing to show for ATI.

I'm not buying ATI again for media PC purposes. The price isn't worth it.
