As far as I know most of MythTV's code is GPL or LGPL V2. There are  
some legal implications to merging V2 and V3 code which are beyond a  
simple discussion here.

The patches don't look like they will have any effect on the HDHomerun  
issues I've been having and I have to return my demo unit this week.
