Just so you're aware, the driver could have support for h.264 decoding
(presumably being Intel, using VAAPI), but MythTV has no support for any
accelerated API except VDPAU in trunk.

So driver support is only one part of the problem.

Based on what was said at LCA by Intel on their acceleration, it seems
pretty clear it's missing some major parts (eg, post-processing) and
VAAPI has been kicking around now for a while with little support. And
VAAPI has not been a very stable API either, nor very complete.

VDPAU is here and now. The API situation could very well shakedown into
one, and shipping code with an API that covers everything could very
well win.

(Also, be wary of what h.264 acceleration means, there are a number of
functions a codec has to go through to result in a stream of pictures,
that something claims acceleration doesn't mean it accelerates all of
those functions.)
