[mythtvnz] Tuning DVB-T

I am assisting a newbie to get his DVB-T setup going. I want to make
sure I am on the right track before I go back and complete the setup.

How do I tune a DVB-T setup in Mythtv. Does the "scan" in "input
connections" in mythtv-setup work reliably or should I be looking for
some frequencies to insert manually?

(Yes I will read the recent thread re the Nova-T 500 before I go back
and finish off)
