A bit OT but related:
I don't have a Ion (yet), but have recently switched my FE from a single
core 2.1Ghz AMD LE-1200 to a dual core 1.6Ghz Pentium E2140. Clock for clock
they are about the same thing, but having the extra core has made the front
end much smoother everywhere in the application.
