I provide patch for both.

I upgraded to Jaunty 2 weeks ago ; and had to do it.

Note that with 8.4a, the LCD display is supported out of the box ;
however with the remote control I had, the direction keys didn't work
properly ; so I had to patch lirc again.

It's rather simpe, get lirc-source , apply the patch, reconfigure the
lirc package.

I also provide the binary module to use with LCDproc out of the box
(so no need to recompile or getting a newer version)
