Dear List

It seemed in discussion with a colleague some weeks ago that we could do with a card which has hardware decoding and Linux drivers. Could not find one.

He has today pointed this out to me:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BroadCom-BCM970010-BCM970012NB-Mini-PCI-e-HD-Decoder_W0QQitemZ150288766941QQihZ005QQcategoryZ3762QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262

Seems to involve a PCIe mini card - with PCIe Desktop adapter option.

Uses http://www.broadcom.com/collateral/pb/70010-PB01-R.pdf

Not sure about Linux drivers though

Also we note:

http://www.micronas.com/products/application/MicRacer/index.html

This time - yes, it is said to have Linux drivers!

Of course there are as many questions as potential answers. How much is required to massage it into a MythTV box, interconnectivity etc.

Do these have any relevance for people looking to do NZ HD under mythtv?

Kind regards
David
