[mythtvnz] X is shifted to the left - best way to fix?

What EDID information are you getting back from the screen? Try

startx -- -logverbose 6

and take a look at the reported resolutions.

It sounds like your screen has a lot of overscan when presented with a
720p image.

Also make sure you are sending 720p50 and not 720p60.
