I question the assertiveness of "absolutely no cases". :-)

However, when I considered something like this (reducing box count) I found 
there are subwoofers with integrated multichannel amps and decoders so you can 
just connect S/PDIF to the "sub" then the satellite speakers are driven from 
the sub's integrated amp. This seems like a better arrangement to me than 
trying to integate a multi-channel power amp with the computer. It you can 
live with analogue audio out and limited power then there are plenty sat/sub 
systems intended for computer connection from the likes of Creative and Logitech.
