USB inputs generally end up as a HID device, with my HVR4000 remote only 
the number buttons and arrows where mapped.
LIRC can translate to mythtv ones.  Doing that without LIRC is  
apparently diffcult.  Even then I still couldn't get all the keys to work.
I ended up using a serial receiver with my one instead.
If the Skystar still includes a serial receiver try that.
