[mythtvnz] 0.21 Frontend crashes X

I having some issues with playing a mixture of transcoded nuv NUV MPEG2 
programs on my front/backend machine.
If I cycle between these formats (in mythfrontend) the screen goes a 
nice light purple colour and Xorg maxes out the CPU.  Trying to restart 
GDM fails.  The only way to fix the problem seems to be to restart the 
machine.
I'm running 0.21 on Ubuntu Feisty withe the nvidia-glx-new driver , I 
didn't have this problem with 0.20.

Help...
