Thanks Robin. That along with increasing the volume in the frontend
(using the ']' key) has fixed the problem, and volume is now normal.

Toby: Unfortunately alsamixer wouldn't help in this situation since
the audio is recorded directly on the card (i.e. it doesn't use the
a.l.s.a.)

Now the only thing I need to fix is the crappy reception :)
