SKY Television Maintenance Tuesday 31st July 2007.

All SKY's digital channels will be off the air from 01:00 am for a period of 
up to four hours on Tuesday 31 July 2007.

To ensure that customers receive maximum benefit from the new D1 satellite, 
SKY is making a modification to the way in which the satellite dish receives 
information from the satellite. There will be a temporary loss of 
programming on SKY's digital service while this work is being carried out.

Currently SKY's services are transmitted on vertical polarity. This 
modification involves switching the polarity of the satellite receivers from 
vertical to horizontal polarity. This modification will deliver increased 
satellite capacity, allowing SKY to look at more satellite transponders, 
ensuring that customers will receive maximum benefit from the switch to the 
new satellite.
