I've been looking for a low-profile PCI DVB-S card for my mother's
mythbox (One of those gigabyte windows media centre slim boxes that DSE
was selling earlier this year). Found one going for $65 on trademe - a
TT-budget S-1401. It arrived today and I threw it in my box to test it
out and make sure it's supported. It's plug'n'play in ubuntu! The card
was detected straight away and was up and running in minutes. Reception
seems comparable to my skystar 2 cards. It's actually sold in some
countries as a skystar 3 (?)

No one is selling these cards in NZ at the moment. For those of you on
the mailing list that are importing cards from overseas, dvbshop.net is
selling these cards for 44 euros without a remote. It only has a full
height bracket with it but a handyman with some basic metal working
tools can convert it to low profile.

Hope this helps.

Sam.
