Hi Steve, hi Rodger,
I'd be happy to do this, and submitted a picture to the Google drive (file name IMG_2419.CR2).
You may recognise it, it's a sunrise picture I took in Thailand last year which I submitted it to one of the PDI competitions last season. The judge criticised the blown-out areas around where the sun hides behind the clouds, which I had toned down in Lightroom before submitting the picture, but apparently not enough to the judge's liking. I would be interested how others deal with very bright areas in their pictures (which are bound to appear) and what everyone thought of the judge's critique.
As far as printing images goes I would not be able to participate as I don't have my own printer and rely on online shops to print images for me, which so far has worked OK.
Any thoughts welcome of course!
Thanks,Angela

Steve,
I have done this with another group in the past and it was quite revealing. I am willing to take part but I am not sure that I want to process 7 images. That’s quite a lot of effort if one approaches this properly.
Another revealing exercise is for several people to print the same processed file without any further editing. Of course, that involves a modicum of expenditure - but a lot less effort. When we did that, a number of participants found that they had issues with their printers or that their colour management was set up incorrectly.
regards
Roger

If we aim for say 7 participants then we will end up with a total of 49 images to review on the night (7 images each processed by 7 individuals!). I don’t want to impact too much on Paul’s full and carefully planned/timed agenda...!

Given that we all use Lightroom or something similar I’m happy to start with either a raw or a full res jpeg file for maximum flexibility, with final output at the club standard 1600 x 1200. I’ll confirm the final list (if we have too many) and circulate them as soon as possible so you can all start processing in good time, along with instructions for saving the finished images. I’ll then pull them all together for a presentation on the night.

Please be prepared to offer a brief explanation of why & how you processed each image as you did at the meeting. It is a great way to show off and share your processing skills with the wider group so I expect it to be a fully interactive session on the night.
