[LBC-news] London Barndance - hybrid

Greetings!
First - many thanks to all of you who have supported London Barndance 
over the many years and particularly throughout lockdown.

Happily we have now run three live events, two back in Cecil Sharp 
House.  November was particularly gratifying when we had at least 80 
heads in the hall plus about 50 Zoom connections, about a third of whom 
were clearly dancing and enjoying LBC at a distance.

In September, we said that until Christmas we would fundamentally run a 
live event but also run a Zoom connection - and we look forward to 
seeing many of you on December 11th, both live and virtual attendees.  
Running a hybrid event takes a LOT more effort with extra people, extra 
kit and extra setup time. Sooner or later, we will definitely drop the 
Zoom feed; however, the question is, "is this the right time to stop"?  
Can we continue a while longer with a much simpler tech setup and still 
deliver something worthwhile to our Zoom audience?

As an aside, the gig on February 12th 2022, will be our 400th live event 
since Bernard Chalk started LBC in 1982.  It might be good to have more 
people who are scattered around the globe, "come" help celebrate that 
landmark.

We would like input from you all on the hybrid event.  Do you want us to 
continue the Zoom feed (and will our virtual audience continue the 
generous financial support that they have shown?).  When should we 
stop?  Did the three dances this autumn deliver enough to the Zoomers?  
Realistically, if we continue, you are certainly not going to get more 
than you have had over the last three months.

Please provide us with some feedback and come and talk to us on December 
11th if you are at the House.
