London Barndance
It's time to get back to real dancing! We are planning the autumn
programme and we hope that most of it will be at Cecil Sharp House.
We have been doing some thinking about how to do this safely. Plans
are still evolving and you can follow them here:
https://www.barndance.org/covid19/
We visited C# recently to try out some ideas and to experience the new
ventilation system. It really is rather good, and quite apart from
better COVID safety it will make summer dancing much more comfortable.
We plan to keep doing the Zoom broadcasts through the rest of 2021,
though most of them will be 'live events' rather than the variety show
that we have done through the pandemic lockdowns. We will still start
at 8pm UK time, but will keep broadcasting until the end of the live
event - normally 11pm.
Here is the programme for the rest of the year:
11th September: Geoff Cubitt and English Contra Dance Band
At Cecil Sharp House, with live Zoom broadcast.
9th October: Diane Silver + TBA
We cannot have C# for this one, so the live session will probably be in
a hall near where we live (near Maidenhead on the M4). Space will be
limited, so it will be necessary to book in advance. On Sunday we will
join with the Englefield Green group for an afternoon dance from 14:30
to 17:30
13th November: Lynne Render with Double Dichotomy (Mollie and Vic)
At Cecil Sharp House, with live Zoom broadcast.
11th December: Rhodri Davies and AliKatz (Ali, Mollie, Leddy and Adam)
https://www.barndance.org/programme.html
The Englefield Green contra will run each month on the day after ours,
from 14:30 to 17:30 at the Jurgens Centre, 91 Harvest Rd, Englefield
Green, Egham. TW20 0QR
We look forward to dancing with you in September!
