London Barndance Company
Saturday 8th September 2018 8pm to 11pm at Cecil Sharp House:
John Meechan
Fat Harry
John was the driving force in the early days of contra in the UK, and he
is largely responsible for London Barndance beng a mostly-contra event
today. John calls a mixture of his own compositions and dances by other
well-known writers and callers. He has been on the dance scene for many
years and has now decided to retire, so this will be John's last event:
do come along to enjoy his calling one last time and to wish him a
happy retirement!
Fat Harry is another long-standing name in the dance world, delivering
a driving Celtic-Zesty-Blues-Klezmer style with heaps of energy. Mollie
Ali and Vic have no plans to retire anytime soon!
See the website for travel information and maps:

The eastern part of the Central Line will be closed this weekend, but
the rest of the Underground is expected to run normally.
New feature: it is now possible to book tickets in advance and pay with
cards online. There is a booking fee (which we don't get) but you can
book for several events in one transaction. Details here:
http://www.barndance.org/where-when.html
We cannot process card payments at the door, so please bring cash
if you don't book in advance.
Our programme is available online, along with a public Google
calendar and an iCal file to import straight into your own diary.

London Barndance is on Facebook:

Please have a look, and join the event too - the more people
who link to it the more visible it will be.
We look forward to the dance on Saturday!
