[LBC-news] Celebrating Bernard Chalk

Chalk Style

On 8th March 2014 at Cecil Sharp House we will be celebrating the life
and work of Bernard Chalk, who founded London Barndance and did so much
to connect the English and US dance communities.  Mark Elvins will be
calling, and the band is Fiddlegang.

We mostly dance contra now, but Bernie was a master of squares
as well - some with a sung call - so Mark is busy honing his
voice and Bernie's friends are scouring the archives for Chalk
quotes and sayings.

Please spread the word: we would like to see as many people as possible
from Bernie's calling heyday.
