Proof of Concept for New Electronics Products

Andrew Larkins, CEO, Lime Tree Innovation

Thursday 24 October 2013 19.00 for 19.30

Palmer Building, University of Reading RG6 6UR

Most product developments are enhancements ofcurrent products, adding new features
reducing costs and improving performance. Developing a product fromscratch in a new
field represents a greater technical challenge and often introduces the need to produce an
early proof of concept system.

This presentation explores the issues in developing a proofof concept for novel electronics
products. It will present techniques used to overcome technical challenges in proof of
concept design such as unknown requirements, new technologies, tolerance analysis,
changing requirements and low cost prototyping. Exampleswill come from a wide range
of applications including a medical diagnostic device, an optical measurement system and
ultra-low power sensor with RF link and will include electronics, mechanics,
communications and software elements.

This event is free of charge and open to all, with refreshments at 19.00, lecture at 19:30.
