Transmit Diversity in Wireless Communications
Fu-Chun Zheng, University of Reading
Thursday 22nd January 2009 at 19:30
Palmer Building, The University of Reading
Light refreshments available from 19:00-19:30
Future wireless systems are expected to involve a plethora of small,
low-cost communication nodes which will be widely distributed in the
infrastructure of cities, including vehicles and public transport
systems. Perhaps the most fundamental challenge in these systems as in
all wireless communications is channel fading. Transmit diversity has
recently proved to be a powerful yet economical technique to combat
fading for wireless systems. This talk will provide an overview on the
past, present, and future of transmit diversity with reference to its
application to some current wireless system standards such as 3GPP and
WiMAX.
If you want to know more, come along. All are welcome and no ticket
is required. Simply turn up on the night. For more details please
contact Dr Richard Mitchell at rjmitchell at theiet.org, or 0118 378 6790
Directions
Enter the University at the main entrance from the A327 Shinfield
Road. Follow the road until until it bends right, when you turn left
and almost immediately right. Go straight on when the road goes to the
left and park near the Palmer Building. See also
