2022 will see the start of the Friends bi-monthly Taplow Talks open to
everyone.
These take place on the third Thursday of the month starting with coffee and
dessert at 7:00pm followed by the talk at 7:30pm.

Thursday, 20th January, 2022: Taplow Court
The history of the Taplow Court site from the prehistoric period up to the
present day. The talk looks at the architectural history of the house and
also includes the mound, old church and graveyard. Our speaker will first
examine the pre house landscape going back the time when the area was
inhabited in the Neolithic and later converted into hillfort in the Iron Age
period. The talk will look briefly at the princely burial in the old
churchyard and finally explore the development of the house from the
seventeenth century to the present day.
The speaker is Elias Kupfermann. Elias is a professional historian and
archaeologist. He runs his own heritage consultancy specialising in historic
building and landscape research, archival and genealogical research. He has
been researching and carrying out archaeological excavations in the grounds
of Taplow Court for the last 20 years.

Information and booking can be found on the Friends page of the Church
website https://st-nicolas-taplow.org/taplow-talks/

Proceeds from this event will be going towards the fund to support
exploration / renovation of the vault in the old Churchyard
