Our Village Green Party last weekend was a great success, especially as the
weather properly obliged after some uncertainty. The Ox roast also warmed up
after something of a "rare" offering early in the evening! A great thank you
to Al Hill and the teams who make it all possible and apparently effortless,
to the band and Caller who got you all up and dancing and to Andrew Findlay
for his splendid new tables.

Back to normal and the A4 is about to become seriously congested as the
Cycleway works approach towards the railway bridge, with traffic lights and
one way working.

South Bucks District Council, in partnership with Chiltern District Council,
has finally published its new Local Plan for a six week review, terminating
Friday 19th July.

To make comments within the consultation there is a process that you have to
register for. Details of this and the Plan itself are on the SBDC website
at: <https://www.southbucks.gov.uk/planning/localplan>
https://www.southbucks.gov.uk/planning/localplan
There is also a large number of documents held as an "Evidence Base". This
is the collection of information that SBDC has used to base the Plan on.
There is also a "Sustainability Assessment" of the plan written by an
independent company that supposedly audits the Plan to provide a view as to
whether it has been done correctly.

Key points for Taplow:

Taplow Riverside is to be taken out of the Green Belt. This means that it
loses the automatic protection against development, leaving only the
Conservation Area as protection.

Taplow Village is specifically identified as having "infilling" allowed.
Previously its Green Belt status would have been a very strong protection
against any development but the government's overarching plan (the NPPF)
allows this to be overruled for what are called Settlements in the Green
Belt. Again, the Conservation Area status becomes the only protection.

The Taplow Neighbourhood Plan Area (aka Taplow Parish) is planned to have
431 houses built across the Plan period - to 2036. The number is not as bad
as it might seem at first sight - the plan runs from April 2016 so the
numbers include the Mill Lane development, some of Institute Road and other
sites that already have planning permission.

We are studying the plan in conjunction with Taplow Parish Council through
the vehicle of our Neighbourhood Plan working group and taking some
professional advice on various points. We have already found errors in the
Plan, specifically relating to housing numbers within Taplow and are talking
to SBDC about them. More information when we have it.

If you have comments by all means respond to the consultation (numbers do
help) but also let us know your views so that we can develop a consensus of
Taplow opinion.

Heathrow (again)
The latest consultation is underway.
