The death of Jon Wilmore, an early member of the Society, is a sad loss for
his family and our community.

 

Jon's considerable contribution to Taplow and its residents will be long
remembered. His exhibit at the Heritage Day at the Village Centre in 1998
was outstanding. Organising the Neighbourhood Watch system at its inset was
much appreciated by his Boundary Road neighbours. He made welcome
suggestions for additions and amendments to the Parish Plan.

 

There was wide regret when Jon decided that he was unable to continue his
long and valuable work as the founder of the Taplow Railway User Group,
TRUG.  Jon's negotiations with Network Rail secured the future of Taplow
Station and its position on the CrossRail network. His efforts brought the
renovation of the footbridge. 

   

A memorial funeral service will be held at St Nicolas' Church on Thursday,
9th April, at 2 p.m.
