An evening with Gilbert and Sullivan

to include

‘Trial by Jury’

The first half of the evening is a semi-dramatised presentation 

of the lives of  WS Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan and their 

relationship with Richard D’Oyly Carte
 by Roger Askew with supporting actors .

 

After the interval, the second half is a performance of 

‘Trial by Jury’ 
with soloists, chorus and full orchestra.

 

 

WS Gilbert died in 1911.  The foundation stone of the present 

St Nicolas Church was laid in that year with the consecration in 1912. 

This evening is a continuation of the centenary celebrations.
