Hi all,
Next Wednesday is the Freenix community workshop:
7.30pm, October 4th, at the Sydenham Community Centre, 25 Hutcheson Street.
Hands-on PC help session + LAN. Bring your computer along for install or
repair, ask questions, meet other users, network. Install/liveCDs freely
available. Light supper provided, donations cover costs, all welcome.
This is our follow-up to http://www.SoftwareFreedomDay.org, so it will
be interesting to see how much take-up there is from our having
advertised these workshops to a lot of new people. We will review our
SFD. A fair number of basic system config queries have resulted already.
Consequently, we can also announce:
Sydenham GLU Ubuntu class:
7.30-9.30pm, third Wednesday of each month (except December & January),
at the South Learning Centre
<http://www.library.christchurch.org.nz/South/>, South Christchurch
Library, 66 Colombo Street, Beckenham. Guided learning for new GNU/Linux
users. 2006 dates: 18 October, 15 November.
For more details, see http://www.hackstop.org/index.php/Current_events
We hope to see you at our event/s, that are designed for maximum
newbie-friendliness :-)
Cheers & regards,
