Nearly there, because apt-get's errors are now:

Err ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org sarge/main Release
   Could not resolve 'ftp.nz.debian.org'

Screen output doesn't all cat >> /home/file but is about missing 
/var/lib/apt/lists/ *some_sarge_386_file*

What have you guys got listed in there please?
